BHARTIYA BHAKTI PARAMPARA AUR MANAV MULYA

Value Addition Courses Committee (University of Delhi) in association with Hansraj College hosted a workshop on the introduction of a new course on Bhakti literature. It was led by Prof. Sandhya Garg and Dr. Nagesh as per UGC 2022 guidelines. It focused on studying 21 poets from diverse Indian regions. Emphasizing an interdisciplinary approach, they highlighted practical elements like documentary creation and PowerPoint presentations to foster student creativity. Its objectives included evaluating poets' societal contributions and promoting national integration through language and literature. Dr. Rakesh emphasized the course's potential to influence humanitarian values and behavior, highlighting effective integration of study materials. The feedbacks underscored collaboration across disciplines and the importance of a cohesive approach, with suggestions integrated into the course plan to enhance practicality and effectiveness.


DIGITAL EMPOWERMENT

The "Digital Empowerment" workshop, organized by the University of Delhi's Value Addition Courses Committee in collaboration with Hansraj College, aimed to equip faculty members with essential digital literacy skills. It was coordinated by Professor Punam Bedi and Professor Prabhat Mittal. It featured insights from Dr. Anjali Thukral, Prof. Vinita Jindal, Dr. Harmeet Kaur and Prof. Hema Banati. Professor Bedi highlighted the workshop's relevance under NEP-2020, outlining course objectives and eligibility criteria, while Professor Mittal encouraged interdisciplinary engagement. Guest speakers provided in-depth discussions on digital inclusion, cyberspace communication, online security, and ethical considerations, offering practical teaching strategies. The workshop concluded with interactive sessions, fostering dialogue and feedback among faculty, aiming to enhance teaching methodologies and digital competence across University of Delhi colleges.


ECOLOGY AND LITERATURE

The workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee (University of Delhi) in collaboration with Hansraj College. It aimed at integrating ecological studies with literary analysis under the Value Addition Courses (VACs) framework of NEP-2020. Led by Professors Premkumari Shrivastava and Geetanjali Chawala, the workshop engaged 37 participants from diverse university colleges. It emphasized interdisciplinary learning and outlined course structures, eligibility criteria, and practical project development. Guest speakers provided insights into merging ecological concepts with literary analysis, fostering a commitment to enhancing interdisciplinary education and ecological awareness through literature within the University of Delhi community.

VEDIC MATHEMATICS - I

The workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee(University of Delhi) in collaboration with Hansraj College. It was coordinated by Professor Prabhat Mittal.The workshop attracted 68 participants from various university colleges. Practical demonstrations by co-coordinators Professor Haneet Gandhi and Mr. Mukesh Aggarwal focused on Vedic Mathematics techniques such as addition, subtraction, the dot method, and calculations involving squares, cubes, multiplication, and division of multi-digit numbers. The workshop emphasized the importance of integrating these techniques into teaching practices to foster interdisciplinary learning and enhance mathematical proficiency across the University of Delhi


SCIENCE AND SOCIETY

The workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee(University of Delhi) in collaboration with Hansraj College. Under the guidance of Dr. Arun Jagannath, it featured speakers including Prof. Prabhat Mittal, Prof. Urmi Bajpai and Prof. Sharda Pasricha.. Dr. Jagannath emphasized innovative teaching methods to integrate science with societal contexts beyond rote learning, promoting practical applications in everyday life. Prof. Mittal discussed flexible implementation of the course syllabus tailored to faculty expertise, while Prof. Bajpai highlighted visual aids and government e-content's role in enhancing scientific education accessibility, citing interactive educational videos as examples. Prof. Pasricha conducted hands-on experiments using household items to demonstrate scientific principles.


AYURVEDA AND NUTRITION

The workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee(University of Delhi) in collaboration with Hansraj College.It was led by Prof. Niranjan Kumar, Chairman of the Value Addition Courses Committee, and coordinated by Dr. Vandana K. Singh. It attracted 46 attendees and was supported by session coordinators Dr. Yasha Yadav, Dr. Amit, and Dr. Dhiraj from the Department of Zoology. Prof. Priti Rishi Lal and Prof. Anil Kumar inaugurated the event, emphasizing its alignment with the New Education Policy-2020 and the integration of Ayurvedic knowledge into modern education. Prof. Lal introduced Ayurveda's foundational principles of vāta, pitta, and kapha doshas in nutrition and lifestyle, setting the stage for Dr. Deepshikha Kataria's discussion on theoretical aspects like food classifications and lifestyle management strategies. Dr. (Vaidya) Vinaya Ballakur and Dr. (Vaidya) Saurabh Sharma provided practical insights into dosha assessment, personalized dietary recommendations and integrating Ayurvedic practices into daily life. The workshop concluded with discussions led by Prof. Upasna Seth on FSSAI regulations and Dr. Sukhneet Suri on pedagogical approaches and assignments.

कार्यशाला का VALUE ADDITION COURSES COMMITTEE (दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय) द्वारा हंसराज कॉलेज के सहयोग से किया गया था । दिनांक 20 अक्टूबर 2022 को VALUE ADDITION COURSES पर NEP के अंतर्गत चर्चा की गई स्टयरिंग कमेटी के मेंम्बर प्रो .अनिल द्वारा प्रारंभि क रूपरेखा पर उद्बोधन प्रस्तुत किया गया । साहित्य, संस्कृति और सिनेमा के पाठ्यक्रम पर प्रस्तुती करण के उपरांत भी चर्चा हुई। तदोपरांत वैल्यू एडिशन कोर्स, (साहित्य संस्कृति और सिनेमा ) पाठ्यक्रम की कोऑर्डिनेटर प्रो. शशि रानी जी राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति की मूल आत्मा के प्रति रूप को प्रस्तुत करते हुए, भारतीय ज्ञान परंपरा का बहुल रचनात्मक लेखन और उसकी क्षमता ओंका विकास जिसमें वैज्ञानिकता, नैतिकता , संस्कृति और संवैधानिकता की महत्ता का विशेष दृष्टि कोण स्पष्ट किया । यह पाठ्यक्रम क्यों जरूरी है, इसकी महत्ता क्या है, या कहां तक उपयोगी साबित हो सकती है? फिल्म मूल्यों के निर्माण में अनेक भूमि का निभाती हैं, अनेक फिल्म विवादित भी रही है। उसके ऊपर भी चर्चा प्रस्तुत की गई।


CONSTITUTIONAL VALUES AND FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES

It was coordinated by Dr. Santosh Hasnu and Dr. Ravi Kumar, the session aimed to educate faculty members about the importance of constitutional principles in contemporary India. Dr. Shobna Sinha, the VAC Coordinator, outlined the objectives of the "Constitutional Values and Fundamental Duties" course, emphasizing its goal to sensitize students to Indian constitutional values and the practical implications of Fundamental Duties in everyday life. Prof. Pushpa Kumar elaborated on the course structure, focusing on its three units and practical components aimed at fostering a deep understanding of constitutionalism among students. She highlighted the course's objectives of promoting constitutional awareness and fostering responsible citizenship through a blend of theoretical insights and practical applications.


FINANCIAL LITERACY

The workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee (University of Delhi) in collaboration with Hansraj College. It was attended by 68 participants including faculty members. It aimed to integrate practical financial knowledge into undergraduate education in alignment with NEP 2020 goals. Dr. Arjun Mittal and Dr. RC Garg from Hansraj College initiated the session with welcome remarks, emphasizing its importance. Prof. Anil Kumar underscored the role of the Financial Literacy course in equipping students with essential financial skills, while Prof. Saloni Gupta from Bharti College detailed the course structure covering financial planning, banking, digital payments, investment management, and personal taxation. The workshop fostered active participation and feedback to enhance course content's practical relevance, concluding with group discussions to propose additional topics and exercises aimed at enriching the Financial Literacy curriculum.


YOGA: PHILOSOPHY AND PRACTICE

The workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee (University of Delhi) in collaboration with Aryabhatta College . It was led by Professor Divya Tiwari from Zakir Hussain College, University of Delhi. The event featured a ceremonial lamp lighting and notable attendees such as Professor Manoj Sinha, Principal of Aryabhatta College, and Professor Niranjan Kumar, VAC chairman. Professor Tiwari emphasized Yoga as a holistic discipline promoting harmony between body and mind, focusing on practices like Pranayama and Asanas for mental serenity and self-realization, drawing from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. It was coordinated by Professor Ranjan Tripathi and Dr. R.K. Dwivedi. It deepened faculty members’ understanding of Yoga’s philosophical underpinnings and practical applications, highlighting its relevance in contemporary life.


NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC) I

The workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee(University of Delhi) in collaboration with Aryabhatta College . It was organized by Dr. Chandrasekhar Nishad, NCC CTO at Aryabhatta College.The workshop aimed to prepare the faculty for implementing NCC courses under NEP guidelines. Prof. Surajit Deb, VAC committee in-charge, welcomed attendees, followed by remarks from Prof. Manoj Sinha, Principal of Aryabhatta College and Prof. Niranjan Kumar, Chairman of the VAC Committee at University of Delhi. Prof. Kumar emphasized NCC's role in nurturing discipline, critical thinking and patriotism, aligning with NEP's holistic development objectives. Capt. Parminder Sehgal, NCC In-charge at Delhi University, outlined the NCC-1 VAC course's structure, highlighting its 2-credit format with lectures and practical components tailored for NCC-enrolled students.


ETHICS AND VALUES IN ANCIENT INDIA TRADITION

The workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee(University of Delhi) in collaboration with Aryabhatta College . The event opened with Prof. Manoj Sinha, Principal of Aryabhatta College, highlighting the role of VAC in enhancing student learning beyond traditional curricula. Prof. Seema Bawa, Course Coordinator and Head of History Department at Delhi University, outlined the course's structure, focusing on India's cultural evolution and ethical foundations throughout history. Dr. Anand Burdhan from Ambedkar University provided insights into ancient Indian traditions using Sanskrit, Pali, and Prakrit texts, emphasizing the enduring influence of Jain, Buddhist, and shamanic philosophies on ethical frameworks. Dr. Shobhana Sinha, VAC Coordinator, facilitated discussions on practical components like projects and field trips to deepen student engagement. The workshop involved faculty from various disciplines across Delhi University-affiliated colleges, concluding with dialogue aimed at refining the implementation of 'Ethics and Values in Ancient Indian Traditions' within the academic framework, coordinated by Prof. Seema Bawa and Dr. Reena Ragi to ensure effective course delivery in future sessions.


SPORTS FOR LIFE –

The workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee (University of Delhi) in collaboration with Aryabhatta College . Dr. Devki Nandan, Course Coordinator, initiated the event with a cordial welcome, followed by an inaugural address delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Surajit Deb. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Sinha welcomed Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Tiwari as the esteemed guest speaker. The workshop aimed to equip faculty members with tools for implementing a sports course that enhances students' holistic development. Prof. (Dr.) Tiwari emphasized the health benefits of sports, promoting teamwork and decision-making skills, and proposed a structured syllabus with a five-day intensive practical training schedule to ensure comprehensive skill acquisition and active student participation. Discussions concluded with practical strategies for integrating game-specific drills, skill enhancement techniques, and effective assessment methods into the academic curriculum, guided by Prof. (Dr.) Tiwari's insights.

This three day workshop was conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee (University of Delhi) in collaboration with Kirori Mal College. Dr. Sri Ram Chauthaiwale, Sri Rakesh Bhatia, Prof. Haneet Gandhi, Dr. Kailash Vishwakarma, and Prof. Prabhat Mittal were the resource persons for this workshop . It convened academicians and researchers to explore its relevance in modern mathematics. It covered key themes such as the contributions of Indian mathematicians, high- speed arithmetic operations, advanced mathematical techniques like rapid multiplication and division, geometric principles and ancient mathematical texts like Baudhayana Shulbasutra and Kalpa Sutras.


ECOLOGY AND LITERATURE

The workshop on Ecology and Literature conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee (University of Delhi) was held at Rajdhani College. Prof. Niranjan Kumar chaired the inaugural session. Prof Kumar in his speech, established the connection between an individual and nature through the prism of the Indian knowledge system. He differentiated between Indian and Western philosophy and applauded the Indian texts for their depiction of the interplay between mankind and nature. The resource persons for the workshop were Prof. Varsha Gupta and Ms Gurpreet Kaur Saini. Prof. Gupta emphasized on the essence of our culture and its imperative role in the holistic development of our students. While examining the environmental challenges with deep understanding of the delicate balance between man and nature, she highlighted the celebration of nature's glories in the writings of luminaries such as Mahatma Gandhi, William Wordsworth, and Rabindranath Tagore. In addition to understanding how literature and stories have shaped civilization, Ms Gurpreet Kaur Saini addressed the course's emphasis on emphatic excursions and creative reenactments and how they aid in the realization of an individual's evolution within the ecosystem. It received an overwhelming response of more than 80 participants.


AYURVEDA AND NUTRITION AND READING INDIAN FICTION IN ENGLISH

These workshops were conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee(University of Delhi) in collaboration with Sri Aurobindo College. Resource persons for Ayurveda and Nutrition were Dr. (Vaidya) Saurabh Sharma,Dr. Sukhneet Suri and Prof. Priti Rishi Lal. The workshop successfully introduced participants to Ayurvedic nutrition principles, linking them with modern healthy living practices. It explored traditional diets, health recipes, and analyzed changing food patterns in society. Resource persons for Reading Indian Fiction in English workshop were Dr. Nidhi Vats and Ms. Shivali Kharbanda .The workshop aimed to introduce participants to Indian fiction in English, analyze novels critically within personal contexts and explore fiction's role in fostering social change. It also examined conveying cultural spirit through language and understanding patriotism in texts from India's freedom struggle.


GANDHI AND EDUCATION AND CONSTITUTIONAL VALUES AND FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES

The Gandhi and Education workshop was coordinated by Prof. K P Singh and cocoordinated by Dr. Sunita Singh. It highlighted Gandhi ji’s propagation for education that nurtured character, emphasizing simplicity, truthfulness, and self-reliance. The workshop on Constitutional Values and Fundamental Duties was coordinated by Prof. L. Pushpa Kumar and the resource person for the same was Dr. Chandrachur Singh . The aim of the course was to guide students to make informed decisions,engage meaningfully in civic life and contribute positively to societal progress and harmony.


SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING AND THE ART OF BEING HAPPY

These workshops were conducted by Value Addition Courses Committee(University of Delhi) in collaboration with Daulat Ram College.The resource persons were Prof. S. M. Patnaik,Prof. Nandita Babu,Dr Ananya Barua,Dr Halley Tockchom and Prof. Rajni Sahni. The workshop on Social and Emotional Learning aimed to enhance participants' social and emotional consciousness by emphasizing stress management, self-awareness, and mindfulness. The objectives were to confront prejudiced behaviours, promote selflessness and wisdom in living choices, and foster empathy, understanding and environmental awareness.The workshop on The Art of Being Happy explored diverse concepts of happiness and well-being through anthropological, psychological, and Vedantic perspectives. It discussed cultural influences on happiness, emphasized healthy relationships, and reflected on Indian values and global sustainability.


सृजनात्मक लेखन के आयाम

विवेकानंद कॉलेज में दिनांक 4 अक्टूबर 2023 को प्रो. निरंजन कुमार की अध्यक्षता में "मूल्य संवर्धन पाठ्यक्रम समिति" दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के तत्वावधान में "सृजनात्मक लेखन के आयाम " विषय पर कार्यशाला आयोजित की गई। मुख्य अतिथि माननीय श्री कपिल खन्ना जी( अध्यक्ष विश्व हिंदू परिषद ,दिल्ली प्रांत) के साथ कॉलेज की प्राचार्या डॉ हिना नंदराजोग व हिन्दी विभाग की अध्यक्षा डॉ योजना कालिया भी मौजूद थीं। कार्यशाला का संचालन प्रोफेसर सरोज कुमारी ने किया। दीप प्रज्ज्वलन और कुलगीत के बाद प्रोफेसर सरोज कुमारी ने कार्यशाला के विषय "सृजनात्मक लेखन के आयाम" विषय का परिचय प्रस्तुत किया। तत्पश्चात प्रोफेसर निरंजन कुमार ने अपने विस्तृत वक्तव्य में नई शिक्षा नीति के उद्देश्यों को रेखांकित करते हुए कहा कि यह पाठ्यक्रम मानवीय अभिव्यक्ति से जुड़े मूल्यों पर आधारित है। इसमें भारतीय ज्ञान परंपरा को समाहित किया गया है। इसका उद्देश्य छात्रों का समग्र विकास और चरित्र निर्माण है। प्रो. कुमार ने कहा कि सृजनात्मकता लेखन- विचारों का प्रभावी प्रस्तुतिकरण है। चिंतन इसका उद्देश्य है।चिंतन समाज सापेक्ष होना चाहिए अन्यथा यह अधूरा रह जायेगा।। उन्होंने कहा सृजनात्मकता केवल कवि में नहीं होती बल्कि समाज के प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के क्रियाकलाप में होती है। सृजन का अर्थ है नव निर्माण और वह भी रचनात्मक निर्माण ।व्यक्ति जो भी सृजित करता है वह देश का भविष्य बदल रहा होता है। सृजनात्मकता के अनेक आयाम हैं । सामाजिक, राष्ट्रीय ,साहित्य ,मीडिया, राजनीतिक और कलात्मक आदि विषयों को समेटे हुए है। छात्रों के लिए यह पाठ्यक्रम अत्यंत उपयोगी है। इसके बाद मुख्य अतिथि श्री कपिल खन्ना जी ने अपने वक्तव्य में सृजनात्मकता के माध्यम से इतिहास को भी रचनात्मकता से दुरुस्त करने का कार्य करने की बात कही। उन्होंने भारतीय इतिहास और भारतीय संस्कृति साथ ही भारत के गौरवशाली भविष्य पर भी प्रकाश डाला । साथ सृजनात्मकता की जीवन के हर क्षेत्र में आवश्यकता पर बल दिया।विदेशी आक्रमणों से ध्वस्त भारतीय शिक्षा और संस्कृति को सृजनात्मकता के माध्यम से पुनर्निर्मित करने का मूल मंत्र दिया। उन्होंने इतिहास के धुंधले पन्नों को अपने सृजनात्मक विचारों की नवीनता से प्रकाशित किया। सत्र का समापन डॉ योजना कालिया द्वारा धन्यवाद ज्ञापन से हुआ। कार्यशाला में विभिन्न महाविद्यालयों के प्राध्यापक और प्राध्यापिकाओ तथा भरी संख्या में छात्राओं ने भाग लिया।
